Customizer → Designs. Two views: My Designs and Library.
A design needs two files: a preview image (what customers see in the design picker) and the SVG that is wrapped onto the 3D model. Customers recolor the SVG by color zone — every fill in the SVG that matches a color-zone key becomes a swatch they can change.
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Artboard matches the product's UV sheet (2048 × 2048 px for Library garments) | Otherwise the design is stretched or offset on the model |
One <path>/<g> per recolorable area, filled with a flat color | Each flat fill becomes a customer-editable color zone |
Use the color-zone keys from Assets → Colors → Settings as element ids (e.g. body, sleeves) | Lets the customizer label swatches ("Body", "Sleeves") instead of "Color 1" |
| No embedded raster images, scripts or external references | Stripped on upload for security |
| Under 2 MB; flatten unnecessary groups | Faster load on mobile |
Fixed vs customizable
Set Type = Fixed on the Overview tab for a design customers may select but not recolor — team-licensed artwork, for example.
The design shows but customers can't change colors. Either the design is Fixed, or the SVG fills are gradients/images instead of flat colors. Open the SVG in Illustrator / Inkscape and replace each fill with a solid color.
Colors are in the wrong place on the 3D model. The SVG artboard does not match the product's texture sheet. Export at the same size as the product's base pattern image (Products → Overview → Assets → Pattern).
Can one design be used on several products? Yes — that is the default (All products). Use the Products tab to restrict it.
