Adding Patterns to Your Konfiwear Account

By the end of this guide, you'll have a new pattern added to your library, configured with a name and SVG, and ready for your customers to apply to garment zones in the 3D customizer.

Before You Begin

Before adding a pattern, make sure you have:

  • Admin or owner access to your Konfiwear account

  • A square pattern file

  • The pattern prepared as an SVG

  • The pattern file ready to upload or use in Konfiwear

The pattern should be square so it can repeat correctly inside the customizer.

1. Prepare the Pattern

Start by choosing or creating a square pattern.

You can use a vector pattern from your own design library or create one in a design tool such as Illustrator.

When preparing the pattern:

  • Use a square layout

  • Make sure the pattern can repeat correctly

  • Remove any unnecessary background

  • Keep only the real pattern elements

  • Keep the file clean and simple

If the pattern contains many separated elements, select them and create a compound path.

In Illustrator, you can do this from:

Object > Compound Path > Make

This keeps the pattern easier to manage and helps it render more reliably.

2. Export the Pattern as SVG

Once the pattern is ready, export it as an SVG file.

When exporting, make sure to enable:

Use Artboard

This is important because it keeps the pattern size and position consistent.

Recommended export settings:

Setting

Recommended value

Format

SVG

Layout

Square

Use Artboard

Enabled

Give the file a clear name, such as:

Black Wave.svg

3. Open the Patterns Section

In Konfiwear, go to the Patterns section from the Customizer area.

This page shows the patterns already available in your account.

4. Add a New Pattern

Click Add Pattern.

Enter a clear pattern name.

Example:

Black Wave

Then upload or select the SVG pattern file.

Click Create to save the pattern.

5. Check the Pattern Preview

After creating the pattern, it will appear in the pattern list.

Open it and check the preview.

Make sure:

  • The pattern displays correctly

  • The pattern repeats properly

  • The colors are visible

  • The pattern does not show unwanted background areas

You can adjust the repeat or scale to see how the pattern behaves when tiled.

6. Enable the Pattern

Once the pattern looks correct, set it to Enabled.

Only enabled patterns are available in the customizer.

7. Test in the Customizer

Open the customizer and go to the Patterns section.

Select the new pattern and apply it to a design zone.

You can then test:

  • Pattern scale

  • Pattern repeat

  • Pattern placement

  • Color behavior

  • Real-time display on the 3D product

If everything looks correct, the pattern is ready for customers to use.

Best Practices

When adding patterns:

  • Use square patterns

  • Remove unnecessary backgrounds before export

  • Use SVG format

  • Enable Use Artboard when exporting

  • Keep the SVG clean and lightweight

  • Use clear names for patterns

  • Enable the pattern only after checking the preview

  • Test the pattern in the customizer before publishing

Troubleshooting

The pattern does not appear in the customizer

Check that the pattern is enabled.

Also make sure the product and design support pattern customization.

The pattern has a background

Open the SVG in your design tool and remove any background shape or image before exporting again.

The pattern does not repeat correctly

Make sure the pattern is square and tileable.

If the edges do not match, the repeated pattern may show visible seams.

The pattern colors cannot be changed

Make sure the SVG uses proper fill colors and clean vector shapes.

Avoid overly complex or hidden elements.

Summary

To add a pattern in Konfiwear, prepare a square SVG pattern, remove unnecessary backgrounds, export it using the artboard, then upload it in the Patterns section.

After creating and enabling the pattern, test it in the customizer to make sure it repeats correctly and displays well on the product.
